The National Center for Competences in Robotics (NCCR) offers Master
Internships for incoming Women Students who would like to visit one of
the NCCR robotics laboratories located at EPFL, ETHZ and IDSIA. A list

Three Master internships will be given of a value of up to 2000 CHF per
month to cover travel and living expenses.Internships may last between 3
up to 6 months.
In order to apply for an internship students must first contact an NCCR
professor to discuss which potential projects may be available. Once

complete application, comprising:
1.A PDF document containing a brief description (maximum 1 page
including references, font size 12) of the project as agreed between the
hosting professor and the student.
2.A CV of the student candidate.
3. One letter of recommendation.
4.A letter of invitation from the host laboratory

The Perceiving Systems department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, Germany announces several PhD scholarships as well as funded summer internships for graduate students in 2015. Research at Perceiving Systems is curiosity driven and spans a wide range of topics in computer vision, graphics and machine learning.

Prospective students will have the option to obtain their degree from either the ETH Zürich or the University of Tübingen. The PhD program at MPI gives the students access to unique research facilities, a rich intellectual environment, and great research freedom. Applicants (both for the PhD and internship positions) should hold a Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering. Successful candidates will typically have ranked at or near the top of their classes and be highly proficient in written and spoken English. Very good computer science skills as well as a mathematical background are required. A PhD in Germany is usually 3-4 years in duration. Summer interns are encouraged to stay with us for at least 6 months.
Max Planck Institutes are internationally renowned and regarded as the foremost organization for fundamental research in Germany. The MPI for Intelligent System studies perception, action and learning. The Perceiving Systems department directed by Prof. Michael J. Black is located in Tübingen together with the Empirical Inference department of Prof. Bernhard Schölkopf, the robotics research department of Prof. Stefan Schaal and the renowned MPI for Biological Cybernetics. The Max Planck Institutes in Tübingen represent an exceptional research environment in which scientists from a wide range of fields including computer vision, machine learning, robotics, neuroscience, and cognitive science collaborate. A full range of state-of-the-art equipment is available, including high-resolution 3D and 4D scanning systems, motion capture, multi-camera video capture, and a large compute cluster.
